Wonderful Wednesday #05

whistle-pound-1

I had good intentions of writing a Wonderful Wednesday blog post last week, however returning home after not seeing my boyfriend for 4 weeks meant that slightly too much wonderful was happening and as a result, time seemed to escape me. But never fear, I now just have two weeks of wonderful to be catching up with!

Seeing David

This, of course, had to be the top thing on my list after a long 4 weeks at university. I have said it time and time again but university is not the right environment for me anyway, let alone when I am on the other side of the country missing the boyf. As it was half term last week I took the very very long train journey back home to Devon and it was lovely. Time escaped and a week didn’t seem long enough, however we did manage some quality time together (look how pretty our Autumn walk was!) as well as a catch up with some friends. Luckily I won’t have to wait quite so long to see him again, just two and a half weeks and he will be making the journey up to Canterbury. It’s not an ideal situation, but as this is now my fourth year at university, we’ve become pros at the whole long distance thang.

Halloween Fright Night

I recently won a ticket to a fright night that was happening at the Canterbury Tales, so me and my friend Chloe went along to check it out. The whole premise was that you had the ‘Plague’ and you each had a clue leading to a specific cure. You’d wonder around each room trying to find your cure while there were actors coming out and scaring you. The clues were ridiculously easy and it was extremely short (so glad I didn’t pay full price as it was definitely not worth it!) however I was braver than I thought I would be and it was a fun way to spend Halloween!

Planning Christmas

I know, I know, Christmas is still over 7 weeks away but I can’t help it, I’m already getting excited for all things festive! I was speaking to someone at work who was telling me about her ‘Christmas gift’ spreadsheet she had made for her friends and family and it got me all excited to start thinking about what gifts to get everybody. Not only that but as I won’t be returning back to the hotel (I usually work Christmas day), it will be the first Christmas me and David have spent together in our entire relationship. I plan on making as much food as humanly possible and drinking eggnog until I fall asleep merrily on the sofa watching the Eastenders Christmas special.

Crisp November Mornings

It seems that October was fairly mild, but as soon as it hit November 1st the world was like BAM it’s winter now. It was the kind of ‘see your breath’ cold and while I hate being cold I love being wrapped up in bed with my hot water bottle snuggling down to read a book. Candles galore, it really is starting to get festive around here!

Another jam-packed week full of wonderful moments. These ‘Wonderful Wednesdays’ you have seen scattered all over the bloggersphere have been inspired by the lovely Sally Tangle. • So happy you had such a wonderful week at home last week! Must’ve been the best feeling ever 🙂

That’s great that you’ll actually get to enjoy Christmas this year and with your boyfriend. I can partly relate: although I’ve never had to work Christmas day, for the past 3 or so years I’ve had to work every other day over the festive and new year period (and probably will have to this year as well hah!) as it’s such a busy period in hospitality and retail. Just gotta think of the savings so we can buy our loved ones nice gifts.

    xx Carina

    • It sucks doesn’t it having to work over the whole of chirstmas period! Like you said gotta think of the dollaaa $$$ xx
