Out of all the Wonderful Wednesday’s I have done so far, this is the one I am need of the most. Nothing particularly bad has happened to me directly per se, but I’m not doing particularly well on the old emotional front, as evidenced by my breakdown yesterday over an episode of Greys Anatomy (The Izzy/Denny storyline had me as an emotional wreck). It would all too easy to blame shark week (yes, shark week is something we are calling it now after seeing it on Twitter somewhere) however I can’t help but feel exhausted by everything that is going on both in the world and in my current life. Since last Wednesday I have been walking around with a little black cloud over my head, with a part of me feeling so consumed with worry about the state of the world and the direction it is going in, and another part of me that is sticking my head in sand, hoping that ignoring the problem will make it disappear. Let me tell you, either option is not good, but until I have figured it out we have Wonderful Wednesday, moments captured to make up for all the nasty business that is going on out there.
One good thing that has come out of my emotional black pit of despair (haha, now that is dramatic), is my productivity levels. When sad/angry/tired etc etc I tend to do anything and everything possible to distract myself. As a result, things are getting done. I’ve adopted the ‘2-minute rule’, which is essentially; if you thinking of something to do and it takes less than two minutes, just do it. It saves you thinking about writing it down and doing it later. You also feel more accomplished and you don’t need to worry about all those small little tasks, cause you did em’!
Imperial Leather Shower Gel: Fun Fair Nostalgia
My process of choosing a shower gel is quick. I pick whichever is on the best offer. Brand/Type/Smell etc doesn’t factor in, as I choose the one that is the best value for money (I am a student after all!). Now I could lie and say I chose this one because it smelt the best, or it looked the nicest but in reality I just picked it up and popped it in my trolly as it was on a special offer. BUT WAIT. This is the best damn shower gel you have ever smelt. OOH. It contains scents of pink peony (not a clue!) and raspberry (apparently that is what the fun fair smells like, it doesn’t, but I’m not complaining!) and will stay on your skin for hours. Next time you are browsing the shower gel shelves, keep an eye out, cause gurrrl (or boy!) you’ll smell amazing!
Waking Up To The Sun Rise
As I write this, the sunrise is pouring through the net curtains and is giving off the most beautiful golden light, which I am just bathing in like some goddess from Egypt or something. While I complete my work experience, I am staying at my Aunty’s house in London and every single morning as I get ready for work, the sun rises, a little to the right, in front of my bedroom window. It’s magical. Its made me want to see the sunrise every single day.
Free From Foods
Staying in London has been challenging for a little Devon girl like myself, but one thing that I have enjoyed the most is the vast selection of vegan/dairy-free foods I have had. While I am not vegan (I still do consume products that contain eggs) I am a vegetarian with a dairy intolerance, making it somewhat difficult to access food that is suitable. London is great for all kinds of diets and I may have hgone slightly overboard on all the sweet treats available to me. As they say, when in Rome…
