Wonderful Wednesday #26

This week’s Wonderful Wednesday is packed to the brim, with all sorts of wonderfulness happening as of late! As it was mine and the boyfs four year anniversary over the weekend, we decided to take advantage of bank holiday and go away somewhere to celebrate. We landed on the Cotswolds, a very romantic destination that was the perfect little get-away. Now is back to reality, as revision and graduate job hunting loom, but after four days away from the same ole, some ole, I feel refreshed and ready to take on the world, one boring revision card at a time!

Easter Baking

On Friday the weather was pants, spoiling all hopes of the outdoor activities that I had organised, so instead, I decided to have an afternoon of baking that I roped the boyfriend into, much to his dismay. With essays, revision and all the other busyness as of late, I haven’t had much time to do baking at all, so it was great to finally get myself back in the kitchen to whip up something tasty!

(Quick) Catch Ups with my Bestie

Funny story; before I started dating my boyfriend, I showed my best friend pictures of this ‘cute guy who asked for my number’ who was like WOAH WOAH WOAH (his exact reaction, no word of a lie). Turns out, my boyfriend lives two doors away from my best friend and they all grew up together, living on the same street an all. After hitting teenage years, they all went their separate ways so are more neighbours now, than friends, but ENTER ME aka the best friend aka the girlfriend, so they have to speak to each other more than either of them would probably like.

ANYWHO. Said best friend moved to London *SOB*, but whenever he’s in Devon he always gives me a shout to see if I’m staying at my boyfriend’s, and if I am, I can just pop over for a cuppa. Luckily, Tim caught me just as I was setting off for the Cotswolds so I had a quick, 20 minute hilarious best friend catch up, which wasn’t long enough, but perfect none-the-less.

The Cotswolds

I will publish a blog post soon about our dreamy weekend away in the Cotswolds, but I needed show off about it here too. First of all, stop what you’re doing and book your next weekend trip here, pronto. The Cotswolds is such a vast area with plenty of places to visit and explore, so much so that I wish I had a lot longer! We used Cheltenham as our base (a beautiful place that gets overlooked by nearby Bath) and we visited Bourton-on-the-Water, Little Slaughter and also Castlecombe (pictured below). While Im always on the lookout for cheap deals abroad, there is something so magical about a stay-cation, especially when the UK has got so much to offer!

Anniversary Dinner

As it was on the way home, we had our anniversary dinner at one of our favourite restaurants in Bath. The Mint Room is a fine dining Indian restaurant, a 15-minute walk outside the centre of the city, which has the best Indian food I have ever had.

Getting Entrepreneurial

On the surface I seem cool calm and collected about my upcoming graduation and potential unemployment, yet underneath I am a damn hot mess at the thought of not finding a job or worse, finding a job and it turning out to be something that I loathe. Last week, while thinking about all these potentials, I had a brainwave – I could start my own business.

It’s not that revolutionary, but I have the idea to create my own range of vegan brownies and sell them at the local market. It wouldn’t be something that would require my attention full time, but it could be something that I have as a lil side hustle while I try and find graduate employment. Luckily I have a super talented, business-minded, bestie who loves the idea, so I figure I could make it work!

Domestic Goddessing

Davids parents have gone away for a week, so I’ve temporarily moved in so we can play ‘house’. So far I’ve done the food shop, put the laundry outside, loaded and unloaded the dishwasher and cooked dinner. While Im sure the novelty of all these mundane tasks will wear off when we finally have our own place, its nice to pretend Im an accomplished domestic goddess in the meantime!
