Wonderful Wednesday #32

I have brownies cooking in the oven, I’m expecting a phone call and I have a mountain of washing up BUT I have managed to tippy-tap out another Wonderful Wednesday! Horray! As intros’ go this isn’t the best, but I have had a fabulous week darling, so let’s just crack right on!

Visiting my besties in London

With David heading off on a lads weekend away *eye roll*, I made the last-minute decision to go to London to visit my friends. Having some best friend time is SO rare for me, and it was just what the doctor ordered. If you are also in a long-distance friendship, I feel ya.

I got up to some ace things in the city including riding around on a ridiculously fabulous giant pink flamingo (what a mouthful!).

All.The.Food.

I gave my friend, Kat, the brief that all I wanted to do was eat in London, and she did not disappoint. The first night I had the best Japanese of my life and on day two, Kat took me around China Town to sample the best it has to offer. Including a little custard fishy. Random, but delicious. Life tip: visit China Town with someone who is Chinese, they will take you to all the best places!

With China Town being so close to a Hummingbird I couldn’t resist popping in for a cheeky cupcake, and on day three I had the best bagel ever. Literally ever. Oh, I would walk back to Shoreditch from Devon just to have that bagel again #onlyhalfjoking

Spontaneous adventures

On Monday evening, everyone was annoying me and I was feeling restless. I hit up an old friend of mine and asked if she wanted to go for a walk and thank the lord she said yes, I was going stir-crazy! It was a lovely evening so we headed to a secret cave that I haven’t been to since I was fifteen; we walked along the coast, through the woods and were met with this gorgeous view of my town. A much more wonderful way to spend an evening!

My friend got a blog!

My good friend started a travel blog and I am so so happy that someone I know is now into blogging! She confessed she didn’t realise how difficult it actually was and it’s great that someone I know just gets it. I would LOVE it if you could have a look – it’s called Sun, Sea and Susan and the post about being a part-time traveller is ace.

And the little moments…

The unicorn mug that I bought from Asda (it was too cute not to!), picking up my first pair of glasses (I can at long-bloody-last see!), finally choosing a graduation dress that I actually like, and buying new bits and pieces for the new house!

These ‘Wonderful Wednesdays’ you have seen scattered all over the bloggersphere have been inspired by the lovely Sally Tangle.  If you want to read more then check out Jo,  MichelleKateCatSamEl, and Kerri‘s blogs and let us keep this cycle of happiness and good intentions spinning!

  • I remember getting my first pair of glasses and being amazed at the clarity of everything. I’d pigheadedly ‘managed’ for years, ignoring people because I couldn’t see them until they were about a foot in front of me. Enjoy your new, clearer world.

    • I really *really* am enjoying me new, clearer world! They have quite honestly changed my life! xx

  • I love how everyone about this post is positive! I totally get the need to just hang out with a best or go for a walk. Brb, checking out Susan’s blog!

  • Last minute decisions are the best and well, if they include getting a delicious cupcake then that’s just the icing on the top! xx
