Wonderful Wednesday #34

Two Wonderful Wednesdays in a row?! STOP THE PRESS. True to last weeks word, I’m striving to make sure I complete a wonderful little list each week, detailing all the best moments, big and small.

ALTHOUGH I do have one little moan. While I appreciate the rain we’ve been experiencing recently is getting everyone hyped about autumn (and I get it, autumn is great), we have got months of rain to look forward to and now is not the time. I want the sunshine! Give me my blue skies, beach days and ice-cream eating weather back please world? Seeing as this is meant to be a happy list though, I will look on the bright side; rain does make the flowers grow!

I digress. On with the wonderful!

Becoming National Trust Members

Yes, I am officially a grandma. Signing up to the National Trust has been on my to-do list for quite a while and as soon as we turned up at the beautiful Lydford Gorge, the national trust volunteer convinced us to do it there and then! For only £32 each for the entire year (half price for under 25’s!), it was a bargain offer I couldn’t refuse.

You get a handy little guidebook, and I picked up some Devon & Cornwall specific leaflets, bookmarking all the places I plan on visiting. It may not be very hardcore for a 22 year old, but I’m okay with that.

Being shortlisted for a Bloggers Blog award!

Yes, I know I keep harping on about it, but I am still in complete shock! I’ve been shortlisted under the Best Food Blog category, and I would be oh so honoured if you voted for me (which you can do here!).

There is a cracking list of amazing blogs, across all categories, and I have been absolutely loving the community sprit coming from the blogging world because of it. Us bloggers rock.

Writing fun blog posts

Being nominated for an award has given some real inspiration for content to create for the blog. I’ve got lots of ideas and I’m looking forward to putting them out into the world. I’m currently working on an ultimate guide to North Devon, and it’s been fun writing about this amazing place I am lucky to call my own.

Getting back into reading

For a long time, I haven’t picked up a book. With coursework and then exams taking over my life, I didn’t have time, and since university has finished, I haven’t wanted to. I suppose I fell out of love with reading. Now I’ve finally got my reading mojo back and I’m loving it! I hope this momentum continues, I’ve got sooo many good books I am eager to get through!

And the little moments…

Being silly with colleagues at work and sneakily eating all the leftover food without the chefs noticing, learning more Polish words from my two favourite Polish ladies, listening to some cracking podcasts on my way into work and early nights after tiring days.

These ‘Wonderful Wednesdays’ you have seen scattered all over the bloggersphere have been inspired by the lovely Sally Tangle.  If you want to read more then check out Jo,  MichelleKateCatSamEl, and Kerri‘s blogs and let us keep this cycle of happiness and good intentions spinning!

    • Thank you so much for the kind words and voting! That means the absolute world to me <3

Ahh yes, next time you are visiting you must stop by in Devon! It gets a lot less love and attention than Cornwall, but I think it's still pretty great! xx

  • We got National Trust membership for Christmas, and we love it so much! Best present ever!!!!!
