Normal service has resumed (for now) and I am back for another Wonderful Wednesday! I skipped a fair ole few during the past couple of months, which I neatly backlogged as they are some of my most favourite posts to look back on. A joyful way to remember all of life’s best bits; the big and the small.
Life has the cheeky habit of throwing you a curveball, but it is always important to remember the wonderful. And recently there have been some absolutely kick-ass wonderful bits.
This year marks the first Christmas that David and I will spend together in our own house. My mother goes nothing short of turning the house into a Santas grotto, so for our first Christmas, I wanted to re-create that cosy, warm and festive feeling in our home too. It’s not quite a Santas Grotto, but our tree is real, we have presents wrapped and sitting underneath and a few festive ornaments scattered around the house. Its not a lot but its perfect for now.
Rye bread and honey
Toasted rye, melted butter and a drizzle of honey. Oooft perfection.
When people talk about me, I want them to say one thing; she is a damn good hostess. Having people over, putting on a spread and drinking lots of wine is what life is all about. This week we had one of Davids friends over and I, if I say so myself, was a glorious host. Monica Gellar would have been proud.
Im going to Gothenburg tomorrow! Me and mama are hitting up the Swedish Christmas markets, making sure to try all the Glogg and cinnamon buns Sweden has to offer. From my research, Gothenburg looks like it has a really cool student city vibe to it, with lots of great restaurants and foodie spots. Plus right in the centre is Scandinavia’s largest Christmas market, over 5 million christmas lights!
Saving the best to last, my new kitten Luna! Me and David adopted this little bundle of joy last Thursday and we are two smitten parents. She was incredibly shy when we first got her, but day by day she is growing increasingly more confident and surprising us with her little quirks and behaviours. All she wants to do is play, and she has pretty much torn down all the baubles from the bottom of the tree. I am quite possibly boring everyone around me with Luna stories, but I don’t care. Aren’t mums supposed to show off?!
