Happy Halloween! Has everyone had a wonderfully spooky October? October has been another whirlwind month, with a trip at the beginning and at the end, it has gone in a flash. Now, I am in full on Christmas countdown mode and I’ve already starting buying and organising presents for everyone. Wouldn’t a wonderful wednesday secret santa be lovely?!
Anyway… November and December are going to be a helluva busy two months, with lots to look forward to BUT first, lets crack on with the highlights of October…
The Black Forest At the beginning of the month me and David hopped on over to Germany for the weekend, our favourite, for a weekend in the beautiful countryside. We stayed in a cute little wooden chalet in the woods, spent time in the fairy-tale village of Colmar, took a cable car ride to the top of a mountain and hired a boat to explore Lake Titisee. Germany is so bloody beautiful and completely under-rated. Trust me when I say, it is so worth a visit!
Mrs Hinch Ooooh controversial I know. Funnily enough I only started watching Mrs Hinch after seeing all the back-lash on twitter as I was noesy and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. For anyone who is not in the know, Mrs Hinch is an Instagrammer, who posts videos of cleaning different parts of her house. She has received a lot of back-lash over the past couple of weeks for using so many different types of cleaning products which are not environmentally friendly. Despite this, anyone who can encourage me to want to clean out my fridge is a bloody god-send.
Bake Off Who else has been bloody LOVING this years bake off? We found out the winner last night (don’t worry I won’t put any spoilers!) and I am SO pleased. This year has been thoroughly entertaining and its made me want to create all kinds of ambitious bakes that I have no business even attempting. Biscuit chandelier anyone?
A Star is Born Jesus Christ this film is heartbreaking. Powerful, so damn good, but I left the cinema sobbing. For anyone who has seen it knows, but, lemme tell you, for those of you who haven’t seen it yet, be warned. You *will* become a blubbering mess. Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper are just PHENOMENAL and the soundtrack is heavenly.
Cocktails with friends There is something so bloody brilliant about seeing friends you haven’t been able to catch up with in so long and spending the entire night putting the world to rights. Over a sexy, sexy cocktail. YES.
Getting my reading mojo back For a little while, I completely lost the ability to read. I know that sounds utterly ridiculous, but I just completely lost the urge to want to pick up a book. After my friend bought me a book when I was poorly, I sort of had to read it out of obligation and I am so glad that I did. It really gave me the kick up the bum that I so desperately needed to motivate me into reading again, and, now, I have SO many books I am eager to read. I’m currently reading Notes on a Nervous Planet by Matt Haig so if you have any other great suggestions – let me know!
October was a wonderfully spooky month and now I am in full on countdown mode for Christmas! If you wanted to catch up with more lovely lists, check out the inspiration behind it all – Sally Tangle as well as Jo, Cat, Sam, Peta, El and Ellie.
